Richard "Dick" Nevi Executive Director E-mail dicknevi@gvedc.com About Came to GVEDC on December 12, 1998 from the staff of Congressman Nick J. Rahall, II, after 12 years as District Representative/Federal Programs Coordinator. Attended Bluefield State College and West Virginia College of Graduate Studies (Marshall University). Completed Georgia Tech’s Basic Economic Development Course, University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute, and Virginia Tech’s World Trade Institute. Member of the International Economic Development Council, the Southern Economic Development Council, Board Member of the West Virginia Economic Development Council, and Board Member for the West Virginia Micro Enterprise Development Association, President of the Connected Technologies Corridors Program, Advisory Council for the Rahall Transportation Institute at Marshall University, board member of the Greenbrier, Monroe and Pocahontas Counties Farmland Protection Boards, and a member of the Lewisburg Rotary Club. ^ top

Richard Ellard Special Projects Coordinator E-mail rellard@gvedc.com About Richard is a lifelong resident of Greenbrier and Monroe Counties, WV. He retired as a Loan and Grant Specialist for USDA Rural Development and its predecessor, Farmers Home Administration where he served for over thirty-four years. During his tenure with USDA he led the nation in the agencies making of loan and grants, and had extensive experience in the infrastructure development for water and sewer projects throughout the state of West Virginia. He graduated with a BS degree in Agriculture from West Virginia University. Currently, he oversees GVEDC's special projects and their development, along with managing three different revolving loan fund programs for GVEDC, which are used for business retention, expansion and attraction for new and existing businesses in Greenbrier, Monroe and Pocahontas Counties. ^ top

Sylvia Simpson Administrative Assistant E-mail sylvia@gvedc.com About Sylvia is a native of Greenbrier County and lives at Renick, WV. She graduated from Greenbrier East High School in 1980. Her work experiences include FPW Architects from Charlottesville, Va. and Ronald Shuey, CPA of Charlottesville, Va. as Office Manager for both. Additionally, she worked for the Albemarle County Farm Bureau also as Office Manager. She is married to Andy Simpson and the mother of three children. Sylvia is very knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and Accounting procedures. She is responsible for the daily activities of the GVEDC office. ^ top
